Hello faithful readers of the Newell family adventures. I want to thank those of you who have kept up with us since our early webpage beginnings in 2000 when we left for Bolivia. It's hard to believe that 12 years have passed since that time. Thanks for being a part of our lives as we have journeyed from the Andes Mountains, to the Arizona desert and now to the beautiful hill country of Texas.

the holidays

A nice family shot for the holidays. Joe didn't hear us say he needed to make a funny face.

We spent a weekend in San Antonio with the Foxes in November. We had fun touring around the city and visiting the Alamo. This picture was one of the highlights as we walked around the city: Lily and Silas standing over an airvent in the sidewalk.
Silas turned 3 in November. Wow! time sure flies!! We love you buddy!!!

Our little hams. Lily and Silas both keep us laughing with their countless adventures together. Reinacting the first Thanksgiving.
We enjoyed a week in Indiana for Thanksgiving. Taking a hike with Grandma at one of our favorite places... Brown County. What a great day we had!!!
Taking a break during the hike. We loved being in the woods and in the cooler weather.
Silas and Lily showing off some new hats Silas got for his birthday and Grandpa showing off his hat from the Navy.
Fun times with cousins. Lily and Silas had a good time hanging with James (Andy and Autumn's firstborn) and Jonas (Ben and Jess's firstborn) while in Indiana.

Even though Joe is twice as old as his cousin Sam(Andy and Autumn's), Sam is as big, if not bigger than Joe. No big deal...Joe wasn't too intimidated... yet.

The four generations on Christmas day. We had a nice, relaxing, peaceful Christmas this year. We headed over to Bryan to B and Grandad's house in the afternoon of Christmas Eve and then spent a wonderful weekend with the Foxes. Christmas with B, Grandad and Dottie included... a yummy lunch, birthday party for Jesus, reinactment of the first Christmas (starring Joe as Jesus, Lori as Mary, Pete as Joseph, Lily and B as angels, Grandad as a shepherd, and Silas as a wiseman)... Silas ended the play saying, "I'm going back to Herod's house", opening gifts, then decorating gingerbread houses. Great memories!
